Right now, I am using two Ableton machines, synced with Midi clock, VSTs are Battery, Massive, Absynth, and FM8. I am getting lots of lag and problems with Ableton , mainly on the powerbook. My question is this :
Can an MPC-3000 Replace my ableton setup, but rendering out everything in Ableton and loading the samples into the MPC? Can I sequence live with the MPC? Can I store and call up samples and loops using other gear like a midi keyboard? Would this be taking a step back in any way? I just feel like if i had a solid hardware seqeuncer, I wouldnt have all the problems I am running into like audio cutout due to overloading the procs on my machines.
Any THoughts? Nay of you guys use the MPC as an exclusive part of your Live act? THANKS!

Re: Ableton TO MPC-3000
Thu, May 3, 2007 - 5:45 PMyou probably only need one ableton, if you "freeze" some of those tracks?
you could perform only on an mpc, plenty do. the question is do you want to?
(can you get the level of controlability and depth of sound you need in a live setting)

Re: Ableton TO MPC-3000
Tue, June 5, 2007 - 9:26 PMWhy? Try cleaning up your Ableton, run two instances of it so you can mix between them like turntables...perhaps you need a Macbook rather than a Powerbook...I'm running two instances of Live on a Macbook with no problems. I used to use an RS7000 and it pales in comparison...
